In 2006 POLITIS newspaper acquired the archive of photojournalist Pambis Avdelopoulos. Pambis Avdelopoulos was active in Cyprus during the decades 1959-1980, covering important events in modern Cypriot history, such as the inter-communal riots of 1963, the 1974 coup, the Turkish invasion and its aftermath, the displacement of both Greek Cypriots. and the Turkish Cypriot community. Exploring his vast archive of images I began experimenting with the idea of a visual dialogue, looking at photographs that he took then and pairing them with photographs I took during my work as a photojournalist. Then, a Cyprus towards division next to a Cyprus now divided.A conversation of both our histories. How does his vision of things past influence the way I look at the present?
